THE MISSION%
The Mission of MarioCo.Dance is simple: To provide the public with an innovative and unique Jazz Dance Company; to entertain while simultaneously evoking strong emotional responses in its audience; and to bring dance to the Phoenix community with new outreach programs that will service underprivileged youths. MCD promises always to use movement dynamics provoked by intense emotion. The choreography is a translation of flow, flux, progression, and regression and displays the constant evolution of our emotions, as abstract or as obvious as they may be.
ADAC Outreach
Part of the MarioCo.Dance mission is to implement a new outreach program where MCD works within the community to bring the arts (specifically dance) together with academics through a program called ADAC (Applying Dance Across Curriculums). The arts and sciences can be directly related and our company helps students to develop and understand that connection. MCD instructors teach nutrition, kinesiology and anatomy, physics concepts, and mathematics through dance and the arts.
